Yesterday we started a discussion of the life of the Greeks. We talked about how Greeks developed coins for trade, and how rich Greeks were expected to pay for government functions. Today we are going to take a closer look at some things the Greeks found important in their lives. One of the biggest contributions that the Greeks made to sport is the Ancient Greek Olympics. With the London 2012 Summer Olympic games quickly approaching, our class will have the opportunity to learn more about the Olympic games and the influence that Greece had upon them. Get ready for our very own Olympics everyone. Please think abouta new, fun and safe sport that you can introduce in the fun Olympic Event in Phys. Ed. Write the rules of the new game and why this sport would be a welcome addition to the Olympic games.
